Four days per week, the children are in the Montessori classroom with their teachers 7:30am – 12:00pm. On Fridays, they spend the morning in the forest.
During the morning “work cycle” the children participate in a range of activities, self-directed as well as group experiences, lessons with the teachers and take a snack. They are guided by Montessori trained staff.
The afternoon program offers outdoor play, additional educational workshops or extended play periods with their friends. This varies with the age, day and group.
The Montessori focus at this age is to provide a home-like environment, focused on a calm daily rhythm that is flexible to the children’s individual needs.
Before a child starts at the Montessori House of Kids, parents are required to attend an observation in the classroom – to see the children and their teachers in action during school time.
